An impatient Chelsea board has sacked coach Luiz Felipe Scolari within just 8 months. Chelsesa who are currently sitting 4th in the English Premier league 7 points behind leaders Manchester united.

Chelsea issued a statement today commenting on the dismissal:

“Unfortunately, the results and performances of the team appeared to be deteriorating at a key time in the season,”

“In order to maintain a challenge for the trophies we are still competing for we felt the only option was to make the change now.”

Many of you may remember Scolari from his days coaching Brazil to glory in the 2002 World Cup, however all previous achievements aside Chelsea have sacked him with immediate effect.

The race is now on to find a replacement & a number of names have been thrown out there including:

  1. Fabio Capello
  2. Sven-Goran Eriksson
  3. Avram Grant
  4. Josep Guardiola
  5. Guus Hiddink
  6. Jose Mourinho
  7. Terry Venables
  8. Ray Wilkins
  9. Gianfranco Zola
