We all love to see a good kick in nuts – especially when it’s a blues player in the firing line. Carlton Blues players Setanta O’hAilpin and Cameron Cloke were battling for the same spot in the team when things really heated up at training.

Cloke allegedly gave O’hAilpin a (good) back-hander to the throat and that sparked O’hAilpin who retaliated with his own whack to the chops and followed up by kicking Cloke while he was down.

Players rushed in to show their discontent with O’hAilpin’s actions and the aftermath has seen mixed comments from current and past Blues players. Former Blues champion Anthony Koutoufides saying he felt it was fine and a bit of passion is good to have and what is needed at the club whereas other players have suggested O’hAilpin as a player is not good enough to justify his actions.

Whatever side of the coin you are on, it seems the Blues always have some sort of drama going on whether it’s on field or off. Good performances on the field should help somewhat deflect the reactions of what will no doubt be another contentious season for the club.
